Terms of Service

Client Terms of Service
This agreement is between The Admit Lab, LLC (“The Admit Lab”) and its clients who have purchased services from The Admit Lab. Unless the context requires otherwise, The Admit Lab and/or its assigns shall be referred to as “us, we, or our” and the client shall be referred to as “you or your.”

1) You acknowledge that you are the applicant, will write all essays and application materials, and are responsible for all aspects of the essays, resumes, and/or other documents. The Admit Lab does NOT write, draft, compose, or complete essays, and it does not “put notes together.”

2) You will not hold The Admit Lab liable for any denied admissions to any undergraduate, graduate, or professional program or school or any denial of employment.

3) We have made NO representations about what our service will do for your chances of admission to any undergraduate, graduate, or professional school or program or for your chances of employment at any institution, corporation, business, or government agency.

4) Services described on The Admit Lab website, Admit-lab.com, that are purchased by client from The Admit Lab are provided “AS IS” without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied. In no event will The Admit Lab be held liable for any damages of any kind, including without limitation compensatory, direct, indirect, or consequential damages, loss of income or data, loss of or damage to property, and claims of third parties arising from any clients’ rejection from any undergraduate, graduate, or professional program of any kind. The Admit Lab disclaims any and all implied or express warranties, including but not limited to, the essays’, resumes’, or letters’ fitness for a particular purpose and your fitness for any job or undergraduate, graduate or professional program.

5) All services are prepaid. The Admit Lab will not provide services unless you have first paid for the services and agreed to our Terms of Service.

6) You understand and agree to our refund policy, which is as follows:

  1. The Admit Lab does not issue refunds for work already performed.
  2. We charge a non-refundable two-hour, one-time minimum.
  3. From the date of purchase, you have up to one year to request a refund for unused services. The Admit Lab will not process refunds that are requested more than one year after the date of purchase.
  4. If you purchase an Hourly Plan and request a refund within one year following the date of purchase, The Admit Lab will calculate your refund as follows: The Amount Paid – [Non-Discounted, Current Hourly Rate * Time]. “Time” is the time your consultant (Philippe Barr) provided services for you. Time will be at least two hours.
  5. If you request a refund within one year following the date of purchase for a Package, The Admit Lab will calculate your refund as follows: 95% of {The Amount Paid – [Non-Discounted, Current Hourly Rate * Estimated Time]}. Please note that The Admit Lab does not track time when working on a Package. “Estimated Time” will be an estimate, and the first applications always take the most time. Estimated Time will always be at least two hours.
  6. If we need to process a refund via a different credit card or via any means of payment other than the one with which you paid for your purchase, The Admit Lab will deduct from the refund a processing fee of $75.

8) Service Expiration:

  1. The Expiration Date for Hourly Plans is two years from date of purchase.
  2. The Expiration Date for a One-Application-Cycle Package is the earlier of A) the end of the application cycle of purchase, or B) two years from the date of purchase. If you wish to extend a package beyond the Expiration Date, you will incur additional charges.
  3. The Expiration Date for a Multi-Year Package is the end of the application cycle in which the applicant, at the time of purchase, intends to apply. If you wish to extend the package beyond the Expiration Date, you will incur additional charges.
  4. All work must be completed prior to the Expiration Date. Upon the Expiration Date, you lose the unused portion of the services that you purchased.

9) While we are happy to explain our services to parents or other potential payors, The Admit Lab does not work with parents, siblings, or other applicant proxies. Unless you are a recommender purchasing a letter of recommendation service or an applicant purchasing a letter of recommendation service for your recommender, our client is always the applicant.

10) The Admit Lab reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

11) Any and all disputes arising under this agreement and not resolved through negotiation shall be resolved through binding arbitration according to the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in Manhattan County, New York at the American Arbitration Association.
